Inside Job (Intro) feels like it was made for me at times. Illuminati? Aliens? Dirty old men? Mysterious past that keeps coming back to haunt the next generation? Yes please!
And I love the writing. So far everything that seemed off has come back as a plot point or a meta joke so it’s a very fun show to speculate about. Like, does it mean anything at all that the leader of Illuminati, Dietrich, only wants to destroy Rand while JR purposefully lost to Dietrich every year at the Power Struggle? Were they in cahoots or were they just having some “innocent” Dom/sub fun in secret? Fun fun fun!
Half joking but cmon ppl have been anthropomorphizing and making human/animal hybrids in art for literally all of human history. It’s one of the earliest motifs seen in art and human creation. Like, the epic of Gilgamesh did it. Egyptian mythology did it. Greek mythology did it. Norse mythology did it. listen y’all. I get it. the real world is overwhelming and difficult to process sometimes, and if a work of fiction first helped you conceptualize a complex real world issue and brings you comfort when shit gets hard, that’s rad. but it’s so important to engage with real issues that affect real people head on instead of filtering them through simplified fictional lenses. do not water down hate speech and violence that has real consequences on real people’s lives; that is beyond trivializing and disrespectful.
